The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has launched a new legal challenge at the High Court in Mbombela to remove its Mpumalanga provincial leader, Mary Phadi, from her position.
This latest development reignites a persistent internal battle for control within the party’s provincial structures.
The application comes months after the court reinstated Phadi as the party’s provincial convener and leader in the legislature in December last year.
Phadi had initially been removed following allegations of misappropriating party funds.
The MK Party is arguing for the urgency of the matter, contending that Phadi continues to represent the party despite her alleged expulsion.
This suggests an ongoing defiance of party directives and a potential disruption to its operations in Mpumalanga.
