Scottland has increased entry charges for their highly anticipated match against Dynamos at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday, capitalizing on the popularity of the Harare giants.
The cheapest ticket will cost $5, up from $3, while Upper Grand Stand tickets will be $10 and VIP Bucket seats will be $20.
According to Scottland chief executive officer Ronald Moyo, the decision to hike charges is justified by the magnitude of the stakes.
“This match against Dynamos is not merely another fixture on the calendar. The intensity, the quality, and the magnitude of the stakes elevate it far beyond the ordinary,” Moyo said.
The match pits two teams with contrasting missions against each other.
Scottland, on a seven-match winning streak, aims to become the first team since 1984 to win a top-flight title on debut.
Dynamos, however, are struggling to avoid relegation, having recently appointed new coach Kelvin Kaindu.
Under Kaindu, Dynamos have shown signs of improvement, beating MWOS, Kwekwe United, and GreenFuel.
Scottland’s Kevin Moyo, a former Dynamos defender, believes his team’s revenue generation from the match will fuel their broader ambitions.
“The revenue generated from such a premium occasion is not an end in itself but a vital means to an end — a catalyst propelling our broader ambitions, both on the pitch and beyond it,” he said.
Kevin Moyo’s experience will be crucial for Scottland as they face Dynamos.
He has started all but one of Scottland’s games, showcasing his consistency and importance to the team. Moyo emphasized the role of teamwork in Scottland’s success.
“It’s all about teamwork. We support each other, whoever is given a chance to play, we just wish each other the best,” he said.
Moyo also highlighted his philosophy of hard work, self-improvement, and faith.
“I always tell myself that if you work hard, push yourself to be better than what you were before, to give my all whenever I’m given an opportunity to play,” he added.
The match promises to be an epic battle between two teams with different goals.
Scottland, riding high on confidence, will face a Dynamos side that has been performing well under Kaindu.
Kevin Moyo acknowledged the challenge ahead, saying, “It’s not going to be easy, of course, looking at their current form. They have been winning of late and they are high in confidence. So, we’re looking forward to an exciting and tough game against a big team like Dynamos.”
With a full house expected at Rufaro, the stage is set for a thrilling encounter between two teams with contrasting missions — one aiming for the stars and the other seeking to swim out of the mud.
