Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG) has reaffirmed its leadership in Zimbabwe’s hospitality sector with the unveiling of the newly refurbished New Ambassador Hotel in Harare.

The hotel, part of RTG’s portfolio, has undergone a US$500,000 transformation, blending modern comfort with contemporary style.

“The refurbishment of the New Ambassador Hotel is part of a deliberate plan to modernise our assets, uplift our city-centre offering, and contribute to urban renewal in Harare’s CBD,” said RTG Chief Executive, Mr. Tendai Madziwanyika.

According to Mr. Madziwanyika, the upgrade reflects RTG’s long-term vision to enhance the quality of its city-centre hotels while keeping pace with global hospitality trends.

The hotel’s 72 guest rooms and bathrooms have been completely transformed, featuring modern furnishings, neutral colour palettes, and subtle textured finishes.

The bathrooms boast walk-in showers, practical vanities, and low-flow toilets designed to minimise water consumption.

The hotel has also adopted eco-efficient measures, including LED energy-saving lighting and water-conservation systems.

“We are not just upgrading hotels; we are elevating the guest journey, improving accessibility, embedding sustainability, and supporting Zimbabwe’s tourism and economic development agenda,” Mr Madziwanyika emphasized.

The New Ambassador Hotel offers seamless access to Harare’s commercial, cultural, and social hubs, making it an ideal destination for business and leisure travellers.

The refurbishment is part of RTG’s US$26 million capital investment programme over the past five years, aimed at enhancing quality, efficiency, and international appeal across all its properties.

RTG has also refurbished its Victoria Falls properties, including A’zambezi River Lodge and Victoria Falls Rainbow Hotel, with a US$380,000 investment.
