Scottland Football Club has parted ways with head coach Tonderai Ndiraya, just days after securing their historic Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title.
The club announced the news in a statement, citing a mutual agreement not to renew Ndiraya’s contract, which expires at the end of the season.
According to the statement, “We would like to express our sincere appreciation for his commitment, professionalism and service during his time with the club.”
Ndiraya’s contribution to the team has been highly valued, and the club extends its gratitude for his role in the growth and development of their players.
Ndiraya’s tenure at Scottland was marked by significant success, leading the team to a historic league title in their debut Premier Soccer League season.
This achievement earned Scottland a ticket to the CAF Champions League, a testament to Ndiraya’s coaching prowess.
“This is a remarkable achievement, winning back-to-back league titles with teams coming from Division One,” said Football analyst Kudzai Zvaguma.
Ndiraya previously led Simba Bhora to their first-ever Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title last season, demonstrating his ability to deliver results at the highest level.
Ndiraya’s departure comes as no surprise, given the club’s statement that his contract would not be renewed.
However, the club wishes him well in his future endeavors, confident that he will continue to excel in his coaching career.
“His contribution to the team has been highly valued, and we extend our gratitude for the role he has played in the growth and development of our players,” the statement added.
Scottland’s chairman, Tonderai “Pound” Sakupwanya, had previously praised Ndiraya’s efforts, highlighting the team’s historic achievement.
