Zimbabwean soccer fans are up in arms over the national team’s new kit, calling it “painfully UGLY” and an embarrassment.

The kit, designed for the upcoming AFCON Finals in Morocco, has sparked widespread criticism on social media, with many describing it as “underwhelming” and “not representative of Zimbabwe”.

Sports journalists and pundits, including Chipo Sabeta and Makomborero Mutimukulu, have slammed the kit, questioning why ZIFA couldn’t secure a partnership with reputable brands like Puma, Nike, or Umbro.

Former Warriors midfielder Cephas Chimedza also expressed his disappointment, tweeting about the “abusive relationship” with the kit.

Fans are particularly unhappy with the design, saying it screams “cheap” and doesn’t capture the spirit of Zimbabwean football.

Some have even started a petition on, calling for ZIFA to reconsider the kit and come up with something more inspiring.

The controversy has sparked a heated debate, with some fans defending the kit and others calling it a national embarrassment.

With the AFCON Finals just around the corner, it’s clear that this kit has become a major talking point in Zimbabwean soccer circles.
