Zimbabwean football team, the Warriors, have intensified preparations ahead of the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, set to kick off on the 21st of December in Morocco.
The warriors have been placed in Group B.
The Warriors’ first test will be a formidable one, as they take on record seven-time champions Egypt on Monday, December 22, at the Adrar Stadium in Agadir, with a kickoff time of 6pm local (7pm CAT).
This match will set the tone for Zimbabwe’s tournament, which many pundits are calling the toughest challenge in the group stage.
Zimbabwe finds itself battling for survival in a group that features some of the continent’s most successful teams.
For The Warriors, this AFCON appearance represents a chance to overcome a challenging past at the continental level, where they have consistently been eliminated in the group stage (2004, 2006, 2017, 2019, 2021).
