Anymore Zvitsva, the 33-year-old suspect linked to a gruesome string of murders in Guruve, is scheduled to make his initial court appearance today.

The suspect, whose alleged killing spree sent shockwaves through the Guruve community during the 2025 festive season, was apprehended over the weekend following a high-stakes manhunt.

Zvitsva’s run from the law ended in the Nyamaka area after security forces tracked him down.

According to police reports, the suspect attempted to evade capture, prompting security forces to open fire.

He sustained gunshot wounds during the encounter and was subsequently rushed to Parirenyatwa for medical attention.

He is accused of murdering several people, including members of his own family.

The most recent victims, a mother and her young daughter, were brutally killed just days before Christmas, leaving the Guruve district in a state of mourning and fear.
