The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has requested a secret ballot for its proposed motion of no confidence for President Cyril Ramaphosa, citing concerns over potential intimidation and the integrity of the voting process.

The party confirmed today that it submitted the request to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Thoko Didiza, three days ago.

The MK Party’s motion is reportedly based on a range of accusations against the President, including alleged governance failures, economic mismanagement, leadership instability, and national security concerns.

In a statement released by the party, it emphasized that a secret vote would provide crucial protection for Members of Parliament (MPs) against any form of intimidation, thereby ensuring a fair and trustworthy voting outcome.
