Erika Kirk, the widow of prominent conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has been named the new CEO of Turning Point USA, the organization her late husband co-founded.
The announcement was made by the organization’s board yesterday, a week after Charlie Kirk’s assassination at a campus event in Utah.
The board’s unanimous decision follows what members say were Charlie Kirk’s wishes, which he communicated in prior discussions with executives.
In a statement posted on X, the board members said they would carry on and not surrender or kneel before evil.
Erika Kirk, 36, who had been less visible in the public eye than her husband, vowed to continue his work and legacy.
“The movement my husband built will not die,” she said in her first public remarks since his death.
She also announced that the “American Comeback Tour” of college campuses, which her husband was on when he was killed, will continue as scheduled.
Erika holds a degree in political science from Arizona State University.
Charlie Kirk, a close ally of Donald Trump, was fatally shot on September 10 while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem.
Authorities have since arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson in connection with the killing.
