In a move to reclaim Zimbabwe’s status as a top-tier destination for international business and high-stakes conferences, the Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG) has unveiled a US$5.2 million transformation of its flagship properties: the Rainbow Towers Hotel & Conference Centre (RTHCC) and the adjacent Harare International Convention Centre (HICC).

This capital injection is a strategic repositioning of the facilities to court the most discerning global clientele and host high-end regional and international conventions.

The Harare International Convention Centre (HICC), long recognized as Zimbabwe’s gateway for high-profile events and a contender for Africa’s largest consecutive conference venue with a massive 4,500-seat capacity, has undergone a comprehensive modernization.

In a statement, Rainbow Towers has confirmed their investment, revealing that its impact has been instrumental as the hotel occupancy has grown considerably.

“The refashioning of the Rainbow Towers Hotel & Conference Centre has breathed new life into the hotel.

“We have seen the positive impact of this investment as occupancy has grown considerably. We are optimistic about the future performance of this hotel, positioning Zimbabwe as a premier destination for regional and international meetings and conferences.” reads the statement.

The overhaul introduces amenities that meet the expectations of major international conventions and high-level State engagements

This includes ergonomic seating designed for long-session comfort, acoustic excellence systems to guarantee crystal-clear audio quality and digital command to support virtual, hybrid, and paperless events.

The upgrade is the latest phase in RTG’s larger US$26 million capital investment programme over the past five years,
