Nash TV, a popular music and entertainment platform in Zimbabwe, has shut down its operations, leaving artists and employees in shock.

The company, owned by Tinashe Mutarisi, announced the closure on Facebook, citing a shift in focus towards entrepreneurship and mentoring.

According to Mutarisi, “I believe I’ve done my part in the entertainment space. From the lockdown days to helping lift a few artists, we pushed as hard as we could, and I’m proud of the impact we made.”

He added, “But now it’s time for a new chapter. My focus is shifting fully to entrepreneurship, building businesses, and mentoring the next generation of Zimbabwean entrepreneurs.”

The closure has affected several artists who relied on Nash TV for support, including popular musician Nisha T, who expressed her sadness and gratitude for the platform.

“It’s difficult to put into words what this moment feels like,” she said.

“The news of NASH TV’s shutdown hit me with a mix of sadness, gratitude, and deep reflection,” she added.

Nisha T, known for her hit song “Kutsamwa kuneLabour”, credited Nash TV for introducing her to the world and guiding her through some of the most defining chapters of her career.

“Zvirikutonetsa kunyora misodzi isingayerere, ndokwakange kwatove kumba,” she said, struggling to hold back tears.

Other artists who benefited from Nash TV’s support include Saintfloew, Raymer Official, and Ninety6.

The company has promised to continue guiding these artists and helping them build their own recording studios and secure new professional managers.

In a statement, Nash Holdings said, “With great sadness, we announce the foreclosure of NashTV: Nash Holdings is shutting down its entertainment operations under the NashTV brand effective immediately… We have informed all previously managed artists of this transition and will continue to offer guidance and support.”

The closure of Nash TV marks the end of an era in Zimbabwe’s music industry, with many artists and employees left to pick up the pieces.

As the news sinks in, the music community is coming together to support those affected and celebrate the platform’s contributions to local talent.
