Dynamos Football Club is yet to receive its US$75,000 prize for winning the Chibuku Super Cup due to ongoing disciplinary proceedings.

The Harare-based team secured victory on November 22, defeating Triangle United 1-0 in a closely contested final at Gibbo Stadium.

According to Premier Soccer League (PSL) CEO Rodwell Thabe, the release of the prize money is stalled due to allegations of Dembare bringing the game into disrepute.

“We have processed all payments except for Dynamos due to their pending case,” Thabe explained.

“It’s standard procedure to withhold payments when there’s an unresolved issue.”

The allegations stem from a delay in the final match caused by Dynamos’ protest over the number of match balls, which led to a 20-minute postponement of the kick-off. The club’s technical staff, including Kelvin Kaindu, Thomas Ruzive, Takesure Chinyama, and Thulani Muzambwa, will appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee on Thursday to respond to charges of disorderly conduct.

Dynamos chairman Moses Maunganidze acknowledged the delay in receiving the funds, stating that the club is unsure about the reasons for the hold-up.

“We’re unsure about the reasons for the hold-up and have sought guidance from the PSL regarding the timelines,” Maunganidze said.

Reports suggest that Dynamos has already admitted guilt and is awaiting a decision.

If the committee decides to impose a fine, it will deduct the amount from the Chibuku Super Cup prize before disbursing the remaining funds.

The club relies on this prize money to address outstanding bonuses, and the full payout hinges on the committee’s ruling.

The hearing is scheduled for December 11, 2025, at 17:30 hours at the PSL offices.

Dynamos’ victory in the Chibuku Super Cup was a significant achievement, but the club’s current financial struggles and disciplinary issues have overshadowed the win.

The team’s reliance on the prize money to address outstanding bonuses adds pressure to the situation.

The PSL has confirmed that a verdict is expected in the coming days, and the decision will determine the fate of the prize money.
