The President Elect of Zimbabwe, Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa said he is very happy to have won this year’s elections and urged those who feel that the presidential race was not run properly to channel their complaints to relevant bodies.
Addressing journalists today, President Mnangagwa said the elections we run peacefully and transparently.
“I did not conduct the elections, I competed in them in the race to win the elections and I am happy to have won the race.
“I think those who think the race was not properly run should know where to go and complain.
“I am so happy the race was run peacefully, transparently and fairly in broad daylight. And I am happy that there was a huge turn out by our people,” he said.
This comes after the SADC, E.U and The Carter observer missions said the elections fell short of regional and international standards thereby denting their credibility.
President Mnangagwa said his new term will see his government focusing on strengthening food security and tackling climate change.
He also promised to continue improving the mining sector.
