The Zimbabwe Republic Police, ZRP has assured the nation that the security situation in the country remains peaceful and conducive for all social and economic activities to thrive amid New year celebrations.

In a statement, the police warned citizens against engaging in nefarious activities aimed at destabilizing the social and economic fabric of the nation.

These activities include unsanctioned gatherings, economic sabotage, and the dissemination of alarming messages through social media and activist networks.

“The police is aware of efforts by certain individuals and groups to engage in the nefarious social and economic destabilizing activities through unsanctioned gathering, economic advantage and sending alarming messages through social media and some activists.

“May I reiterate and assure Zimbabweans that the Zimbabwe Republic Police is ready to deal with any malcontent and unruly elements bent on causing chaos, disorder and despondency among Zimbabweans in the year 2024,” reads the statement.

Despite the existence of these potential threats, ZRP has urged Zimbabweans to continue with their normal day-to-day activities without fear. They emphasized that the safety and security of everyone within the country is guaranteed, and citizens should not be deterred by the actions of a few individuals or groups.

“The police urges Zimbabweans to continue with their normal day to day activities as the safety and security of everyone is guaranteed in the country,” reads the statement.
