The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has initiated an investigation into a disturbing incident captured on a video that has gone viral on social media. The footage shows a female victim being assaulted by five female suspects in Hatcliffe Extension, Harare.The assault allegedly took place after the victim was accused of having an affair with a married man.

According to ZRP spokesperson, Mitchel Kariwo (18) has been arrested in connection with the case and is currently in police custody, cooperating with authorities as they seek to establish the full details surrounding the incident.

“The police have since arrested Mitchel Kariwo (18) in connection with this case. The victim sustained some injuries as a result of the assault and she was referred to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospital where she is receiving treatment.” Reads the statement.

The ZRP has also refuted rumors circulating on social media regarding the victim’s death, emphasizing that she is alive and currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The police are now seeking for information from the public for details that may lead to the arrest of Zeripah Kanduza, Natasha Kanduza, Fortunate Tembo, and another suspect only identified as Olleen.
