The Home Affairs Department and the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) are set to collaborate in launching the Border Management and Immigration Anti-Corruption Forum in Pretoria today as an initiative to intensify efforts to combat corruption at points of entry.
The Chief Whip of ActionSA, Lerota Ngobeni says they fully support the Border Management and Immigration Anti-Corruption Forum to be launched today.
Ngobeni says, “We think that it’s a step in the right direction, any efforts that can be made for us as a nation to a handle on what has happened with rampant corruption in the DHA that has resulted in the abuse of the state resources “.
“Any effort to curb that and make sure that we can get the system right is very much welcomed.
“We will see what it is the launch is going to be about and what the terms of reference are going to be as soon as the forum is launched,” Chief Lerato Ngobeni said.
