Sungura Artist Tatenda Pinjisi Dies in Road Accident

Tatenda Pinjisi, a renowned Sungura musician and hitmaker of the song “Saina,” has died. He succumbed to injuries after getting involved in a tragic road accident along the Harare-Bulawayo Road. He was 35 years old.

The accident occurred on Saturday evening near the Norton tollgate while Pinjisi and his band members were driving to a performance at Macsherp Leisure Centre in Kadoma.

His vehicle had a head-on collision with an oncoming truck that was overtaking another car. Three people died instantly, including his bassist, Naison Tembo, drummer Prosper, and a female passenger.

Pinjisi was reportedly behind the wheel when their vehicle collided.

Pinjisi suffered multiple injuries when he was was taken to a local hospital in Norton. He was late on transfered and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital, where he fought for his life. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his wounds.

The music community is mourning the loss of a talented artist who was rising to prominence in Zimbabwe’s music scene. Fans and fellow artists have paid tribute to Pinjisi, remembering him for his dedication, determination, and hits like “Saina.”
