Botswana has officially announced the launch of its first-ever Citizenship by Investment Program (CIP), branded as the “Impact Investment Program,” set to open for applications in 2026.

With a confirmed minimum contribution starting at US$75,000, the initiative immediately positions Botswana as the provider of the world’s most financially accessible open CIP.

According to the announcement, the required contribution for citizenship will range between US$75,000 and US$90,000.

The program is a direct attempt to inject vital foreign capital into key domestic sectors.

“Starting in 2026, you can invest between US$75,000 and US$90,000 to become a citizen of Botswana.

“It’s a promising initiative and an effective way to boost both population growth and financial inflows.” The announcement reads.
