The 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League is hurtling toward a cliff‑edge climax, with nine teams now trapped in a desperate relegation battle.
After 31 rounds, the bottom of the table reads like a crisis zone with Bikita Minerals sit 12th on 36 points, while Triangle (13th), GreenFuel (14th) and Manica Diamonds (15th) cling to just 34 points, leaving the final round of fixtures a make‑or‑break scramble for survival.
According to the latest fixture list for Matchday 32, the weekend of 1–2 November will pit many of these clubs directly against one another, heightening the drama.
The current schedule shows Bikita Minerals facing Dynamos at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday, while Manica Diamonds meet Ngezi Platinum at Sakubva, GreenFuel take on TelOne at Ascot, and Triangle clash with MWOS at Ngoni.
“It is sad that it has to end this way, and there is little we can do about it,” said Eastern‑Region analyst Mutekede.
“Teams from the Eastern Region will have to fight each other on the last day of the season, and it will not be surprising to have one or two teams from the region relegated.”
Bikita’s coach Wilson Mutekede, whose side is currently in 12th place, warned that the margin for error is razor‑thin.
“The relegation fight continues. Unfortunately, we thought that by this time of the season, we would have eased the situation,” he said.
“We really need to fight hard and aim to win our games. The destiny is still in our hands. We need to do what we are supposed to do. It is achievable.”
Manica Diamonds coach Tafadzwa Mashiri echoed the urgency, especially for his upcoming fixture against Ngezi Platinum.
“Our game against Ngezi is crucial for us,” Mashiri said.
“We really need a positive result to avoid further sliding into the relegation zone. It is a big match. Our opponents are in form. We need to prepare well and work on our weaknesses, especially converting chances.”
He added a note of optimism, “Avoiding relegation remains achievable.”
With four spots up for relegation, the nine clubs in the danger zone are acutely aware that a single goal, a single win, or a slip by a rival could seal their fate.
As the countdown to the final weekend intensifies, fans can expect a series of “brother‑against‑brother” showdowns, where every kick will matter.
The upcoming fixtures promise high‑stakes drama, and the next two days could decide which clubs survive in the PSL and which will be forced down.
