Dembare Secure Medical Partnership Deal

HARARE giants Dynamos, buoyed by their opening day Castle Lager Premier Soccer League win over TelOne, received yet another big boost yesterday with a local pharmaceutical company agreeing to partner them as a technical sponsor for medical supplies.

The Glamour Boys, who came from behind to overcome TelOne 2-1 at Ascot, are now bracing for the first real test of their pedigree to withstand the Premiership heat in 2026 when they face old enemies Highlanders in a high-profile showdown at Rufaro this weekend.

However, as they look to fight for honours instead of suffering the kind of ignominy they endured last season of battling demotion, Dynamos have found partners who will guarantee that the players’ wellness is catered for throughout the campaign.

Crown Pharmacies, previously known as Diamond Pharmacies, revealed that they have agreed on a partnership that will ensure that Dynamos team doctor Robert Musara and his crew will not have to worry much about medical supplies for training and match days this season.

The development is seen as a significant step in the club’s efforts to professionalize its operations and provide a conducive environment for the players to perform.

Dynamos chief executive officer Desmond Bvute expressed his excitement at the development, emphasizing the importance of the partnership to the club’s long-term vision.

He highlighted that the welfare of the players is a top priority for the executive, especially given the physical demands of modern football.

“We are happy to announce the coming in of Crown Pharmacies as our medical partner. It’s a major boost for the players,” Bvute said.

The Dynamos CEO went on to explain the historical context behind the club’s need for such a partnership, pointing to past challenges that have affected player careers.

He stressed that ensuring access to quality medical care is no longer a luxury but a necessity for a club of Dynamos’ stature.

“As you know, we have had cases of players whose careers were cut short by injuries, so we view this partnership as critical,” he added.

Bvute also noted that the timing of the announcement is ideal, coming right at the start of the new season.

He believes that this kind of support system will have a positive psychological impact on the squad as they prepare for a grueling schedule.

“The partnership also comes at a time when we are starting a new season. So, I am sure this will boost morale among the players. As the executive, we are trying to establish a good working environment for the players so that they can deliver for this big football institution,” Bvute said.

He further revealed that Dynamos would this year continue to try and seal a number of sponsorships and partnerships with the corporate sector.

This aggressive drive comes as the club is under pressure to keep up with rivals in the rapidly changing operating environment in the Premiership, which has become a megabucks league where financial muscle often translates to success on the pitch.

Crown Pharmacies director, George Nyamayaro, explained his company’s motivation for backing the Harare giants.

He acknowledged the size of the Dynamos brand as one of the PSL’s traditional giants and believes they “deserve support from the corporate world.”

Nyamayaro elaborated on the synergy between his company’s core business and the needs of the football club.

He expressed a personal connection to the team, noting that the partnership is driven by a shared passion for the beautiful game.

“We are happy as Crown Pharmacies to come in as a technical partner with Dynamos on their medical side. We saw it fit to partner DeMbare, they are a big team and the players need proper medical care. This is what we do, we are in the medical field and DeMbare is a team we all love,” Nyamayaro said.

The Crown Pharmacies director also addressed the competitive landscape of the Premier Soccer League, suggesting that Dynamos had been lagging in terms of corporate backing compared to emerging rivals.

He reiterated the company’s commitment to preventing the tragic loss of young talent due to inadequate medical attention.

“We want to see Dynamos compete. They are the big boys, but right now there are new teams that have come in. These teams have sought so many different partnerships with them and we felt DeMbare did not have those kinds of partnerships,” he stated.

“We have seen, I think, in the years gone by, young players getting their careers end because they did not receive the requisite medical care, especially in the early stages of an injury. So, we are happy to say that as Crown Pharmacies we have partnered with DeMbare and this season I think with the crop of players that we have and what we have seen so far, we hope that the team will compete at the highest level with the other teams that are in the league,” Nyamayaro added.

Looking ahead, Nyamayaro confirmed that they were also aware that Dynamos face a tough task of representing the country in the CAF Confederation Cup.

He assured that his company would play its part in ensuring that the medical consumables required for the continental tournament are in place, allowing the players to focus solely on their performances.
