Doves Holdings has committed to take care of the repatriation and burial arrangements of the body of the late Zimbabwe Warriors and Caps United football legend Charles Yohane who passed away this week.

In a statement, the funeral parlour said it will work with its subsidiary, Zororo Phumulani based in South Africa to repatriate the body back to Zimbabwe.

“As the Doves family incorporating Zororo Phumulani In South Africa, we are deeply saddened by the passing on of Charles Yohane and would like to extend our heartfelt condolence to the family, friends, the soccer fraternity in Zimbabwe and South africa as well as the nation at large.

“We have lost a fine gentleman of the beautiful game of soccer, a Caps United and Warriors legend with a cultured left foot.

“According to the General Manager Marketing for Doves Holdings, Mr. Joel Gombera, the Zororo Phumulani team has already begun the paperwork to repatriate the body with the assistance of the family.

“The family have since communicated their preferred burial arrangements which will be made public in due course,” the statement reads.

One of the suspects in the robbery and murder of Yohane was arrested in Soweto after he was found driving around in the deceased’s car.

Yohane’s body was found by his family and friends in South Africa on Tuesday with a gunshot wound in the head, after he had gone missing on Saturday.

According to family members, the ex-Wits player had gone to a match and encountered the robbers in Soweto on his way home.

CCTV footage of the former star’s kidnapping at a traffic light emerged where a gang of four men jumped into his BMW vehicle and forced him to drive off.

The gang had made a failed attempt to hijack another car before they pounced on Yohane.

Since Saturday, friends and family were looking for him and after the car was tracked, one of the suspects was arrested in Soweto on Monday while driving around in the car.

The search was narrowed to the Soweto area and on Tuesday, with the help of the police, his body was positively identified.
