In a significant development, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has directed that all Government Ministers will be required to report to ZANU PF Politburo meetings, presenting detailed updates on their portfolios.

The reports will focus on how ministries are working to uplift the lives of ordinary Zimbabweans, ensuring alignment between Government policy, service delivery, and the Party’s vision for national development.

This move underscores the Second Republic’s emphasis on accountability, transparency, and people-centered governance.

According to President Mnangagwa, the reports will enable the party to have a better understanding of the issues affecting the people and to make informed decisions.

“That meeting resolved that we invite critical ministries of our Government to give the party detailed update reports on critical issues which affect the day-to-day lives of the generality of our people,” he said.

The President highlighted the importance of discussing pertinent matters such as the state of preparedness for the 22nd National People’s Conference, which will be held in Mutare next month.

He also emphasized the need for discipline within the party and the government, stating that the protection of Zimbabwe’s hard-won independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity demands utmost discipline from all those serving in public offices.

President Mnangagwa reaffirmed the party’s commitment to development and improving the lives of Zimbabweans.

He urged party officials to work harder, grow, align, and strengthen grassroots structures as they accelerate progress towards the realization of Vision 2030.

“The DNA of ZANU-PF as a people’s party must never be compromised. Office bearers at all levels must never become impediments to the growth and development of our economy,” he said.

The President also emphasized the need for the party to prioritize the distribution of resources towards fighting poverty and promoting development.

“Corruption of any kind and excesses that alienate us from the people can never be condoned. Integrity, discipline, and unity, concern for the people, and clean governance must be synonymous with ZANU PF,” he said.

By requiring Ministers to present detailed updates on their portfolios, the party aims to ensure that the government is working effectively to address the needs of the people and promote development.

This move is seen as a step towards improving the lives of Zimbabweans and achieving the party’s vision for the country’s future.
