The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) has forecast rainfall in parts of the country from Saturday, warning of possible hailstorms as thunderstorms develop.
MSD Deputy Director Mr Isaac Masawana said a cloud band moving from Botswana was expected to bring rainfall to parts of the country before spreading northwards.
“There is a cloud band emanating from Botswana to the western side of the country in Matabeleland and the Midlands and by Monday will cover the northern side of the country. We urge people to be on high alert as the rains will be characterised by hailstorms.”
The forecast comes as farmers prepare for the 2026/27 summer cropping season, with agronomists advising them to begin planting once their areas receive sufficient soil moisture to support germination
