As I reflect on the Catholic Church’s enduring presence in our world, I am filled with a sense of awe and gratitude. Despite facing criticism and fake news from various quarters, the Church remains a rock of strength, a beacon of hope, and a shining example of God’s love.
With a rich history spanning over 2,000 years, the Catholic Church has demonstrated remarkable resilience and adaptability. From its humble beginnings to its current status as a global community of over 1 billion members, the Church has consistently proclaimed the Gospel message of salvation and redemption.
Here in Zimbabwe, I have witnessed firsthand the Church’s unwavering commitment to serving the poor, the marginalized, and the vulnerable. Through its extensive network of schools, hospitals, and charitable organizations, the Church has touched countless lives and brought hope to those who need it most.
But the Church’s strength goes beyond its institutional presence. It lies in the deep devotion and loyalty of its members, who find solace in its teachings and traditions. It lies in the moral authority the Church wields, speaking truth to power and advocating for justice and compassion.
In an era marked by uncertainty and division, the Catholic Church stands as a testament to the power of faith and unity. Its timeless message of love, forgiveness, and redemption continues to inspire and transform lives.
So let us proudly proclaim our faith and allegiance to the Catholic Church, this magnificent institution that has weathered the storms of history and emerged stronger and more radiant than ever.
