Kuvimba Mining House (KMH) is set to host this year’s edition of the Inter Mines Golf Tournament, which will be held at the Hillside Golf Course in Mutare this weekend.

The annual tournament, which is organised by the Chamber of Mines, provides a networking platform for mining companies to share information on improving mining activities and operations. It also provides a forum for miners to discuss policy issues affecting their industry.

Addressing journalists yesterday at a press conference, the Chamber of Mines CEO, Isaac Kwesu revealed that KMH’s subsidiary company, Freda Rebecca will assist in coordinating the event to bring all stakeholders in the mining industry together.

“This event is one of the most important events on the Chamber of Mines calendar. Over the years, the event has brought together key participants on the mining value chain, our mines who are members of the chamber, associates, suppliers, and all other important stakeholders.

“This year’s event will run from the 21st to the 22nd of September. It is our hope that all those who participate will get value for their involvement in this year’s event . Our host, Kuvimba Mining House, has done everything possible in preparing for the event,” Kwesu said.

The acting CEO of the KMH group, Trevor Barnard, said they chose to host the tournament in Mutare to support the town’s local industry and suppliers in line with the company’s mission.

“Our vision at Kuvimba Mining House is to create a better future for Zimbabweans by developing mineral resources, creating value for stakeholders, and improving livelihoods sustainably. This tournament is a fun tournament, and we would like people to enjoy it.

“We are getting many players from across the country as well as a few professionals that will join us. The activities will include a cocktail function and the dinner, which will be the main event of this tournament, which will be held on Sunday. There will also be lots of prices to be won,” Barnard said.
