The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has launched a design competition for local artists to create a new kit and logo for the national football team, the Warriors. The contest, dubbed “Warrior Pride Brand Design Battle,” aims to find fresh and innovative branding for the team.
“We want the boldest and most creative designs for our national teams,” ZIFA said in a statement on social media.
ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi announced the contest at a press conference in Harare, highlighting the need for new branding. The competition will run for six weeks, with submissions due by May 15, 2025.
The winner will receive a cash prize of US$3,000, official recognition, and an all-expenses-paid trip to see the Warriors’ first match at AFCON 2026.
To participate, designers must submit digital designs that include:
– A brand name and logo/icon
– A description of the design’s inspiration
– Application of the brand on merchandise, including home, away, and alternative kits
Designs must incorporate colors from the Zimbabwean flag, with specific primary colors for each kit: yellow for home, green for away, and white for alternative.
Entries should be submitted as high-resolution images in PDF format to branddesign@zifafootball.org.zw.
A judging panel will evaluate entries based on creativity, adherence to guidelines, visual appeal, and incorporation of national symbols.
