Dynamos, currently third‑from‑bottom with 34 points, are on a remarkable unbeaten run, having gone three months without a loss since their 27 July defeat to Chicken Inn in Bulawayo.
Under new coach Pastor Kevin Kaindu, the “Glamour Boys” have not tasted defeat in 11 league and cup matches, mixing confidence, discipline and attacking flair.
Key victories include wins over MWOS, Scottland and arch‑rivals Caps United, while in knockout play they have eliminated Simba Bhora, ZPC Kariba, Yadah and Highlanders, proving their mettle under pressure.
Now the focus shifts to three pivotal home fixtures in Harare against Bikita Minerals, Yadah and FC Platinum that could seal survival.
“Dynamos must win at least two to maintain momentum and keep their dreams of surviving alive,” the club’s statement emphasized, noting that fellow relegation candidates are likely to cancel each other out.
With renewed belief, tactical clarity and growing fan support, Dynamos are hitting form at the right time.
“The city is buzzing, the team is confident, and the mission is clear: victory,” the club added.
Bikita Minerals, sitting just above Dynamos with 36 points, also need a win to avoid the drop.
Their coach, former ZIFA technical director Wilson Mutekede, says his side is ready to “engage” Dynamos.
Mutekede acknowledges the tight relegation matrix and the need to get out of the danger zone, pointing to a recent good patch of two wins and a draw in their last four games.
“Yes, we are indeed in the relegation matrix where we are fighting to try and make sure we avoid the chop. It is indeed a very, very tight race, a very tight fight if you look at the number of teams involved. But look, we are trying to really do our best to get out of it,” he said.
Mutekede added that, despite Dynamos’ current roll, Bikita is determined to take something from the Sunday clash at Rufaro.
He stressed the life‑or‑death nature of the fixture, describing it as “life and death. But that’s football. That’s the game we have to play. And I think we are ready for that.”
“We are hoping to play well against Dynamos. We know Dynamos are on a roll at the moment. They are doing well, they are posting results but we are determined to try and fight to make sure we get something out of this match. So, yes, the battle is on and we are geared and excited to really engage Dynamos at this juncture of the competition,” Mutekede declared.
With Dynamos needing at least four points from their final three games and Bikita needing a win, the upcoming match promises a high‑stakes relegation showdown.
The head‑to‑head record shows a single recent meeting with a 1‑1 draw on 14 June 2025, with Dynamos holding a slight edge in overall stats five wins, four draws, one loss in the last ten encounters, and a 1.2 goal‑per‑match average, compared with Bikita’s 0.9 goals.
The fixture, set for Sunday at Rufaro, could shape the final table, as both sides chase the four points that could mean survival.
The city is buzzing, the stakes are high, and Zimbabwean football is taking notice.
