Covid 19 Update: Zimbabwe records 282 cases

The number of Covid 19 cases in Zimbabwe continue to rise as the country recorded 282 cases after registering 3 new infections yesterday. The three new cases are of returnees from South Africa (2) and South Sudan (1) who are all isolated

The country has 4 deaths related to Covid 19, 34 recoveries and 244 active cases since the onset of the outbreak on 20 March 2020. The total number of tests conducted is 52 985 countrywide and Harare metropolitan province has the highest number of cases (99) followed by Matabeleland South (41) and Masvingo (39).

Africa

According to the World Health Organisation, Africa has 183 760 cases, 5, 060 reported deaths and 81 498 recoveries. South Africa is the most affected country with 45 973 cases as at 7 June 2020.

World

The Covid 19 pandemic has infected over 6.8 million people in the world and over 397 000 people have lost their lives due to the pandemic. The United States of America is the most affected country in the world  with over 1.98 million cases and 112 723 deaths
