Former Citizens Coalition for Change Legislators Job Sikhala and Godfrey Sithole were yesterday convicted for inciting public violence in 2022 after the death of Moreblessing Ali.

The duo now wait for their sentencing which will be handed to them on 29 January.  The verdict came after the courts noted that the videos posted by Sikhala and Sithole had caused violence in Nyatsime which saw shops and houses being vandalised.

However,  their lawyer, Harrison Nkomo said the two will will appeal their conviction for incitement of public violence at the High Court on Monday after their sentencing.

The court also postponed the matter in which Sikhala is accused of communicating falsehoods when he claimed that a baby strapped on its mother’s back had been beaten to death with a baton stick by police officers in Harare.

The matter was postponed to February.
