The Zimbabwe Gender Commission, in partnership with the Harare City Council, has announced the launch of a Clean-Up Campaign initiative which will be held today in Mbare.

In a statement, ZGC revealed that the campaign aims to promote cleanliness, gender equality, and community empowerment, while addressing gender-based violence.

“This initiative is particularly significant as it coincides with the beginning of Women’s Month and serves as a prelude to the commemoration of International Women’s Day on the 8th of March.

“The clean-up campaign serves as a platform for community empowerment, encouraging local involvement and fostering a sense of collective responsibility towards maintaining clean and safe public spaces,” reads the statement.

Running under the theme, “Clean up Mbare, Sweeping GBV Out,” the campaign reflects the commission’s commitment to combating gender-based violence and creating safer environments.

The Zimbabwe Gender Commission has called upon individuals, organizations and individuals from all walks of life to actively participate in creating clean, safe, and inclusive environments for women across the country.
