Headlands Businessman sends 20 year old man to commit murder for ritual purposes

A 20 year old man from Headlands was slapped with a 7 year jail sentence for attempted murder which he committed after he was instructed by a local businessman to bring a human head for rituals

According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Tatenda Mudziwedare was nabbed after he was caught strangling the neck of a 7 year old pupil with the intention to kill.

It is the state’s  case that on 28th of February,  Mudziwedare received instructions from a local businessman at Sherenje Business Centre to procure a human head.

Acting upon these instructions, the accused person pursued a group of children who were on their way to school and managed to seize a 7-year-old pupil.

The accused tightly gripped the victim’s neck with both hands, attempting to strangle the minor.

“He managed to grab the complainant’s who is a grade one pupil and squeezed the minor’s neck using both hands.

“The accused person only stopped when he saw villagers approaching at a distance,”  the NPA wrote in a statement.

Mudziwedare pleaded guilty to the charge of attempted murder and the court sentenced him to seven years in prison, with three years of the sentence being suspended.
