Harare football Giants, Dynamos F.C will continue playing their home games in Bulawayo at Barbourfields Stadium, due to the ongoing stadia crisis in the country’s capital city which has removed all the football action from it.

Harare, which used to have three stadiums that hosted PSL games no longer has a single sporting facility that is fit for football matches. The National Sports Stadium, which was used last year by both Dynamos F.C, Caps United F.C and Herentals F.C was condemned because of poor ablution facilities.

Rufaro Stadium,  which was taunted to start hosting local matches this season is yet to be operational. Gwanzura stadium was decommissioned a long time ago. The newly built Heart Stadium is yet to be opened to host matches.  The development has seen football teams from the capital city travelling to other towns to host games.

This coming weekend, Dembare will hold their home game against Hwange at Barbourfields Stadium. While Caps United will be away at Nyamhunga Stadium in Kariba, they are likely to host their home games at Bata Stadium again this season.

PSL spokesperson Kudzi Bare said it is their desire to have football matches hosted in every town across the country, and urged authorities to work on stadiums  to reach required standards.

“As the PSL, we desire to have our matches in every town across the country. We urge authorities to work on stadiums for them to meet the standards that are set by the First Instance Board (FIB),” she said.

PSL action will resume this weekend, with defending Champions  Ngezi Platinum Stars hosting  FC Platinum at Baobab stadium in Mhondoro.  Chicken Inn will host Arenel Movers at Luveve while Herentals and CAPS United face off at Nyamhunga Stadium in Kariba.

Telone face Manica Diamonds at Bata stadium in .On Sunday, Bulawayo Chiefs play Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium, while Chegutu Pirates hosts ZPC Kariba at Baobab Stadium. The action will spill over to mid-week  as  Yadah will be expected to host whoever will be declared the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One champion, between Tenax and Bikita Minerals.
