Former Highlanders coach Baltemar Brito has applied for the Warriors job ahead of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers set for next month.

Brito was the last coach to take charge of the Warriors in World Cup Qualifiers when he presided over the two draws against Rwanda  and Nigeria late last year.

The Portuguese took charge of the Warriors on interim basis when he was still in charge at Highlanders. The Zimbabwe Football Association recently advertised for applications for the Warriors coach.

Zimbabwe host Lesotho at Orlando stadium in Johannesburg on 7 June before playing South Africa away in Bloemfontein on 11 June.
