Dynamos FC has suspended head coach Genesis Mangombe with immediate effect pending investigations into multiple allegations of misconduct, the club confirmed in a suspension letter.
The Board of Directors said the decision follows numerous complaints from players and an incident at Glamis Arena on Thursday, 18 June 2026 involving members of the club’s Executive Committee.
Mangombe will remain suspended while the club finalizes its probe.
In the letter referenced DFC/GM02, Dynamos stated that “the suspension was meant to allow further investigations into the plethora of allegations raised against you without any interference from you or any other interested party.”
The club said “the action was taken to protect the integrity of the process.”
The main allegation cited is insubordination.
The Board stated that “on Thursday 18 June 2026 at Glamis Arena you were summoned to attend a post training technical meeting after the team’s training session. During that meeting, officials advised him of complaints made by players.”
“Goalkeeper Idrissou Nfor Finiar is alleged to have told management that you are forcing players to bath in juju before games,” the statement added.
“Similar allegations had been previously raised against you by Christopher Netty, Dynamos Senior players through their Captain and Stanley Billiat who also alleged that if a player refused to bath in juju as per your directive they would not be allowed to play on matchday.”
The club further claimed Mangombe’s conduct during the meeting worsened the situation.
It alleged that “you disrespected members of the Dynamos Executive Committee who were talking to you during that post training technical meeting by challenging them, showing disregard of their authority.”
The suspension takes effect immediately and Mangombe will be barred from all team duties until the investigation is complete.
Dynamos said the Board would review evidence, interview witnesses and give the coach an opportunity to respond before making a final decision.
The development comes at a sensitive time for DeMbare, who are chasing points in the Castle Lager PSL.
Mangombe took charge amid high expectations from the Glamour Boys’ supporters, but recent results and dressing-room tensions have increased pressure on the technical team.
Players cited in the allegations include goalkeeper Finiar, veteran defender Christopher Netty and Stanley Billiat.
The club’s captain is also said to have raised concerns on behalf of senior players about the alleged “juju” ritual and selection threats.
Such claims touch on both cultural beliefs and professional standards, making the investigation one of the most controversial in recent Dynamos history.
Club officials signed the notice as V. Chawonza (Chairman), D. Sena (Secretary General) and D. Bvute (C.E.O).
They did not give a timeline for the investigation but stressed that no interference would be tolerated.
Dynamos have not named an interim coach yet.
Assistant coaches are expected to take charge of training while the Board works with the Executive Committee to gather statements and review the incident at Glamis Arena.
Supporters reacted with a mix of shock and concern on social media, with many calling for transparency and due process.
The “juju” allegations in particular have sparked debate about tradition, discipline and player rights in local football.
For now, Mangombe remains suspended as Dynamos try to stabilize the dressing room and keep their season on track.
The club said it would communicate further once the investigation is concluded and a decision on the coach’s future is made.
