A 34-year-old pastor from the Apostolic Faith Mission of Zimbabwe has been slapped with a 30 month prison sentence for incest after the court found him guilty of repeatedly having sexual relations with his 18-year-old stepdaughter between 2022 and 2024.

According to The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the abuse began in 2022 when the victim’s mother left her in the pastor’s care. The first incident occurred in his bedroom while they were watching videos. The abuse continued over the years, resulting in a pregnancy in 2023. The pastor arranged for the pregnancy to be terminated.

The matter came to light after a tip-off led to investigations, resulting in the pastor’s arrest. He was subsequently convicted and sentenced for incest.

The court’s decision sends a strong message that such crimes will not be tolerated, and perpetrators will be held accountable.
